His sermon preparation calls for memorizing his comments and listening to himself on tape. Despite low expectations towards his father, Joel proved to be excellent at this occupation. Osteen says he decides to concentrate on the good of Godfather than sin. His primary focus will be to educate Biblical principles only, stressing the power of love and an optimistic outlook.

Osteen has usually avoided discussing contentious issues like gay marriage, abortion, and politics. When inquired, Osteen said that he’s fought to same sex union and that he considers homosexualities a sin in accordance with scripture. Yet, himself will not preach on homosexuality due to his belief that God enjoys, accepts, and approves of all individuals. When asked if he believed God approves of homosexuality, Osteen said that homosexual people should be taken, which sin is human nature and nobody’s perfect. And himself said it is written individuals should hate sin and not sinners. He’s said the church has an inclination to become too focused on single problems (like homosexuality) to the stage of ignoring others.

Osteen said, why he will not discuss about Devil and Hell as ” We consistently attributed the Devil. Himself believe now after I say the Adversary, I want to allow it to be wider. Occasionally the Adversary can be our own ideas. We have trained ourselves the erroneous way. The Enemy also said this, the Gospel meant ‘Good News’ to him. The Enemy would instead say God is a God of mercy.

His theory was that individuals understand what they’re doing wrong, so he does not feel like telling them they’ve done horrible blunders and they’d go to hell. But the enemy gives gay people a hope telling god is merciful. Compliance is needed.

A couple now has two kids, son, Jonathan and a daughter, Alexandra. Two children live in an enormous hose manufactured from rock. The River Oaks house is technically possessed by the Covenant Trust, meaning the Osteens are not eligible for a homestead exemption on it. The couple and their children will pay around $260,000 in property taxes on the new house this year. The couple and their kids moved to a 17,000-square foot stone mansion in the Tall Timbers subdivision in River Oaks, several months past.

“The homestead exemption would reduce that sum, but they likely set the possession in a trust for national tax purposes that outweighs the advantages of the property tax exemption,” surmised a house assessment specialist who asked to not be identified.

It had not been his sermon that’s brought Joel Osteen net worth of $40 million dollars. Based on reports, Osteen has not drawn a salary from the church since 2005. His income comes from best selling novels and associated products, including calendars, day books and inspirational pamphlets. His latest novel is called I Declare: 31 Promises to Talk Over Your Life. Much of the information of these publications is chosen from his most successful sermons. The purpose behind them would be to make folks feel better, to examine their lives more favourably and to remind them about the love of God.

Is Joel Osteen's Net Worth Deserved?

I have been an evangelical Christian for 57 years and you cannot convince me that Christ approves of his ministers living in multi-million homes, flying in church owned jets, driving truly expensive cars, etc. I do not believe anyone should like in poverty but teaching by example is a better choice.

    • Matthew

What about the Cardinals and bishops even the Pope over there. Are you serious. He was loaded way before he took over his dad’s church. His books made him his money. And saved a bunch of people that didn’t like themselves from evil things. I’m not saying he needs to live in big house and drive big nice cars. I’m just saying if he wants to its his money, it’s America (last time I checked) and it’s capitalism at its finest way way way way way better than the Communists thinking that these liberals want us to believe, or you

      • It is also hypocrisy, particularly the hypocrisy of modern Christianity, in the clearest example possible.

    • Courtney Romeo

Teaching by example to be successful, in life, as well as financially, is a bad thing?!

      • I can only guess that you are not familiar with any of the specifics of the traditional story of Jesus of Nazareth.

  • NewsRe

His followers are devoted…..FOOLS. Joel is laughing all the way to the bank. Just like Pastor Dollar who brought a $65M jet. All religions are made up of men who “hear” god talking to them. First indication they are lying.

    • Lily

I won’t put people down for their beliefs, but I will put people down who take advantage of these beliefs. I agree that they are fools for following him though. Who would choose to follow a man of God who is worth so much? Aren’t they supposed to be humble?

  • NewsRe

Newer religions are about a slick talker. Followers are blindly ignorant. Giving money to a great bullsh.itter who tells them what he wants using gods name as the golden chip. I’d rather play a casino. The odds are the same.

    • Courtney Romeo

If you knew anything about him, you would know that he never asks for money. Talking about a slick talker, you should check this out yourself before speaking on someone else.

      • B illy

Courtney wake up and smell the BULL SH*IT.

        • Courtney R

Well that’s been my experience. A “basket” is passed around if you choose to donate etc, no different than in Catholic Church, etc, so Idk what BULL SH*IT you’re shouting at me about.

  • Marco

Fucking hypocritical fake pastor, who was even too dumb to finish his degree in Theology. It’s a shame how people blindly listen to his salmon .. Umm, sermon.
Working as an RN at a hospital, I am disgusted to see how many patients watch his show, and either be blown away by his gay ass smile, or getting angry with his poorly interpretation of God’s word. His TV presence is a ridicules all the hard working real priests who are living an honest life while helping their followers in so many ways. I’m not even very religious, but bastards like this con man make me very angry.
    Wake up, America!

    • Matt Robinson

Wow Marco. I can tell your a true Christian. . I think u need to wake up and reevaluate your life or at least your choice of words. And another thing for all y’all on here. Watch one of his shows he never once says become a member of my church. He says go to a good Bible based church. Nor does he ask for a dollar. Nor does he claim to be a pastor. He said he’s just bringing it to you his interpretation. . And I think all y’all talking need to remember one thing. None of y’all are judges there is only one judge so y’all need to step back and ask for forgiveness. . Love y’all my brothers and sisters.
